Glossary of Wrestling Terms

Introducing the Glossary of Wrestling Terms! Everything covered in Wrestling Term/History of the Week and more!

Episode #14 — Have A Beer (with Kris Newton)

Well folks, we did it. We’ve arrived at Episode #14, something Miles has been looking forward to since the early days of this podcast. Because now we get to cover the episode of NXT that originally aired on August 21, 2013, and the main event of that episode is the stuff of legend. NXT had already been getting acclaim for its presentation of the women’s division, but this two-out-of-three falls match between Sami Zayn and Cesaro is what truly put NXT on the map, and became the standard by which everything that came afterward was judged. It is THE classic NXT match, and there’s no better way to celebrate it than by bringing on fellow NXT enthusiast and the host of Megadumbcast, Kris Newton.

Episode #13 — The Wrath of Khansaro

The 13th edition of The NXT Wrestling Fan has arrived, and it’s luckier than Corey Graves’ finisher! Why so lucky, you ask? Is it because Cesaro screams “ZAAAAAAAYN” like he’s just been left to die on the Regula I research station? Yes. Yes, it is. Also because it covers the episode of NXT that originally aired on August 14th, 2013!

Episode #12 — The Many Faces of Dean Ambrose (with Dan Mulkerin)

New Year, new episode! We bring you fresh, hand-made, artisanal wrestling shenanigans from Miles, MeganBob, and special guest Dan Mulkerin about the NXT episode that originally aired on August 7th, 2013. Dan lets us in on Miles’ long-running attempts to get him hooked on wrestling and gives us that theatre kid perspective on stage combat and costumes.

Episode #11 — Miracle On Mason Ryan Street

Happy holidays, wrestling fans and cautious newcomers! We give you the gift of the NXT episode that originally aired on July 31st, 2013, and which for some reason involved a comically absurd level of dance content!

Episode #10 — Take Your Gimmick And Go, Pal

The podcast has reached double digits and is now allowed to stay up until 9pm! To celebrate this benchmark we watch the crowning of the NXT Women’s Championship in the episode of NXT that originally aired on July 24th, 2013.

Episode #9 — Mystery Ice Cream (with Elle Collins)

On this, the much-anticipated ninth chapter of their journey into wrestling fandom, Miles and MeganBob are extremely pleased to welcome writer and podcaster Elle Collins to talk about their own journey as a latecoming wrestling fan, their tips for entering the world of wrestling, and more specifically, the episode of NXT that originally aired on July 17th, 2013.

Episode #8 — Regalmania

Episode eight started as a normal episode and then it became clear that there was a theme underlying it: a certain…royal quality. A touch of Regalness, if you will. This episode falls in love with (almost) every minute of the episode of NXT that originally aired on July 10th, 2013

It Is A Truth Universally Acknowledged, That Everybody Has A Price For The Ten Thousand Pound Man

Big, BIG ups to superfan Vladimir Duran for this spectacular image of Fitzwilliam Darcy as a pro wrestler — or, as we like to think of him around these parts, Fitz DiBiarcy, the Ten Thousand Pound Man! Vlad is a spectacular artist whose work can be found on Patreon, Twitter,

Episode #7 — Sugar Beet Harvest (Or, We Need To Talk About D)

As we all know, seven is the most powerful podcasting number, so it is with great arcane energy that we present the seventh episode of The NXT Wrestling Fan, covering the episode of NXT that originally aired on July 3rd, 2013. If you don’t have WWE Network, you can watch
